CLEVELAND (April 14, 2015) – Cuyahoga Arts & Culture (CAC) is pleased to announce that its Board of Trustees has elected Joseph P. Gibbons President of the Board. Mr. Gibbons was reappointed to CAC’s Board of Trustees by County Executive Armond Budish and confirmed by Cuyahoga County Council on March 24 to serve a three-year term ending March 31, 2018. Mr. Gibbons has served on CAC’s Board of Trustees since his appointment in March 2014.
“We are delighted that Joe Gibbons will serve as president of CAC’s Board of Trustees,” said Karen Gahl-Mills, executive director of Cuyahoga Arts & Culture. “Joe’s extensive record of public service, combined with his personal dedication to arts and culture, make him uniquely suited to take on this leadership role.”
“Cuyahoga County’s arts and culture activities are an essential part of what makes our community an exceptional place to live,” said Joseph Gibbons, president of CAC’s Board. “I look forward to working with my fellow trustees to strengthen the exceptional foundation my predecessors built, ensuring responsible stewardship of public funds for arts and culture in our county.”
Joseph P. Gibbons, a partner in the Cleveland law firm Schneider, Smeltz, Ranney & LaFond P.L.L., practices business law, estate and business succession planning, estate and trust administration, real estate and probate litigation. He was a member of Lakewood City Council from 1992 to 1995; is a current member of and president of the Lakewood Civil Service Commission; was chairman of the Board of Directors of Lakewood Catholic Academy and was a member and officer of the Board of Trustees of the Lakewood Hospital Foundation. Mr. Gibbons is currently a member of the Lakewood Hospital Board of Trustees. Mr. Gibbons is an alumnus of John Carroll University and the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and resides in Lakewood with his wife, Peggy.
Mr. Gibbons replaces Sari Feldman as board president. Ms. Feldman was appointed to the Cuyahoga Arts & Culture Board of Trustees on April 1, 2009 and has served four terms as President of the Board.

Cuyahoga Arts & Culture is governed by a Board of Trustees consisting of five members who serve rotating three-year terms without compensation. Board members are appointed by the Cuyahoga County Executive and confirmed by Cuyahoga County Council. All meetings are open to the public, and members of the community are welcome to attend.
